The list price is a ticket to the door. A mid sized store on the Business tier at 1,490 CZK a month lands at roughly 5,150 CZK a month once it buys the usual bundle of third party add-ons, close to triple what Shoptet advertises. The recurring extras are almost always the same: an accounting connector, email marketing, feed management, a loyalty programme and better analytics. Their price is frequently set not by Shoptet but by a partner, scaled to your turnover. Shoptet is the dominant hosted ecommerce platform in Czechia, so the figures below are Czech, but the pattern travels: on any platform built around a plugin marketplace, the advertised tier is the floor.

Why a Czech price list is worth your time
Shoptet is the hosted ecommerce platform most Czech online stores run on, holding roughly the position in its market that Shopify holds in the English speaking world. If you have never heard of it, read on anyway, because what follows is the clearest worked example I have of a pattern you will recognise from any platform sold with a plugin marketplace attached. The tier you compare on is not the bill you pay.
All the amounts here are in Czech crowns and I have left them exactly as published. Do not bother converting them. The number that transfers is the multiple between the advertised tier and the real monthly total.
How the tiers are built
Shoptet has five standard tiers plus a separate Premium above them. What separates them is not order volume but mainly a ceiling on product count and on how many extensions you can switch on. Free gives you 10 products, Basic at 440 CZK a month gives 100, Business at 1,490 CZK gives a thousand, Profi at 2,490 CZK gives five thousand, Enterprise at 4,690 CZK gives fifty thousand, and Premium from 12,000 CZK gives around a hundred thousand.
Worth noting: Shoptet does not officially police your monthly order count. From 1 September 2025 it also dropped its limits on data transfer and page views. The order volume figures that circulate on blogs are rough guidance by store size, not a hard ceiling the platform bills you against.
Paying annually gets you 10 percent off, two years gets you 20. There is no setup fee, and even the Free tier includes hosting and SSL. Up to this point the price list is pleasantly clear. The break comes the moment your store needs something the base tier simply does not have.
Where the advertised price stops being the price
The add-on catalogue is the largest in the country and most of the real cost hides inside it. Plenty of listings say free to install, then add in small print underneath that the partner may charge further fees. In practice you pay the actual price to an outside company, and it scales with your turnover or the size of your contact database rather than sitting in a flat fee at Shoptet.
Accounting is the clearest illustration. There is no native link between Shoptet and Pohoda, the accounting package a large share of Czech businesses run on, so a third party connector handles it. One widely used connector costs 300 CZK a month plus a one off professional setup at 18,000 CZK. That is for a single function that many Czech stores need on day one.
The same story repeats for email marketing (Ecomail from roughly 470 CZK a month depending on database size), advanced feed management for price comparison sites (Mergado, in the hundreds of crowns), a loyalty programme, deeper reporting or smarter abandoned cart handling. Almost every additional function means either a jump to a more expensive tier or another paid add-on.
A worked total for a mid sized store
Take a mid sized store on the Business tier at 1,490 CZK a month that buys the usual bundle. In the table below, list price means a verified published amount and estimate means a partner price scaled to turnover. Adding it up, I land at roughly 5,150 CZK a month.
That squares with an independent estimate from EshopRadar, which puts add-ons at typically 500 to 5,000 CZK a month, with the average store using 6.1 of them and Premium stores using more than 10. The real bill for a mid sized store therefore reaches about triple the advertised tier price.
Honestly, the amount bothers me less than the fact that it is impossible to keep track of. Most of the line items are not paid to Shoptet but to assorted partners, each with its own turnover based price list, and every new function tends to mean a new invoice from another supplier.
Where Shoptet is genuinely strong
Let us be clear, that same add-on catalogue is also Shoptet's greatest strength. Nobody in the Czech market has a broader ecosystem of partners and integrations, so there is a ready made answer to almost any need. For a merchant who wants to reach for a proven app without worrying that nobody will support it next year, that is a real advantage.
It also has full Czech language support by phone and helpdesk on working days, an enormous installed base, and free system level product feeds for Heureka and Zboží, the two price comparison sites that drive a large share of Czech ecommerce traffic, as well as Glami and Google. Dropping the limits on orders, data transfer and page views in September 2025 was a step in the right direction.
So Shoptet is not a bad choice at all. It is an established platform with the widest ecosystem you will find in that market. You just need to plan for the advertised tier being the entry price rather than the final one.
How Behio approaches it
Behio goes in exactly the opposite direction to a catalogue of paid add-ons. Stock, invoicing, B2B, a loyalty programme, product feeds for comparison sites, its own analytics and an AI teammate all belong to the platform and sit in one subscription. You do not pay extra per function. What grows with a higher plan is the ceiling: product count, team size, languages, currencies and AI credits.
Accounting makes the difference concrete. Where Shoptet needs a connector at 300 CZK a month plus 18,000 CZK to deploy it, Behio has the invoicing module inside the product and exports Pohoda XML straight from the admin. Paid plans start at 390 CZK a month and the order count is never capped.
What Behio does not have is a partner network on Shoptet's scale, and it is the younger player. In exchange you get one price, one data model, and no stack of invoices from third parties.
The verdict
Shoptet has the largest add-on ecosystem in Czechia and full support in Czech. Its advertised tier is an entry price rather than a final one, though, and a mid sized store with the usual bundle lands at roughly 5,150 CZK a month. If you want one predictable amount, with stock, invoicing, B2B and product feeds native instead of bought from third parties, it is worth comparing against an all in one platform like Behio, where plans start at 390 CZK a month. And if you are reading this from outside the Czech market, run the same exercise on whatever platform you are considering. Price the plugins you know you will need on day one, then compare that total, not the tier.
Common questions
The list tier is only the base. A mid sized store on the Business tier at 1,490 CZK a month reaches roughly 5,150 CZK a month once it buys the usual bundle, meaning accounting, email marketing, feeds, loyalty and analytics. That is close to triple the advertised price.
No, Shoptet does not officially limit monthly orders. Tiers are divided by product count (10, 100, 1,000, 5,000, 50,000) and by how many functions you have switched on. From 1 September 2025 the limits on data transfer and page views were dropped as well.
There is no native link, so a third party connector has to handle it. The one most often mentioned costs 300 CZK a month, with a one off deployment of around 18,000 CZK on top. Pohoda is the accounting package a large share of Czech businesses run on.
Yes. Stock, invoicing, B2B, a loyalty programme, product feeds for comparison sites, analytics and an AI teammate are all native in Behio in a single subscription from 390 CZK a month. The Pohoda XML export sits directly in the admin and order volume is never capped.
