Wix is a hosted builder in which a complete beginner can put up an attractive site, and the interface and store are localised into plenty of languages including Czech. As an ecommerce platform outside the countries its own gateway covers, it has three snags, and Czechia shows all three: Wix Payments does not operate there, cash on delivery and the local pickup point carriers run only through paid third party add-ons (the Packeta integration costs 3,000 CZK once plus 350 to 400 CZK a month), and the subscription is billed in dollars. Fine for a presentation site with a few products, a fight with add-ons for a full store.

| Card payment | yes | through Stripe, Wix Payments unavailable in Czechia |
| Cash on delivery | not natively | third party add-on only |
| Packeta / pickup points | not natively | add-on: 3,000 CZK plus 350 to 400 CZK/month |
| Local invoicing | not natively | through a link to iDoklad and similar |
| Subscription billing | in USD | exchange rate risk |

Status as of 2026. Wix prices are with annual billing, monthly is 5 to 8 percent higher. The add-ons are run by third parties, not by Wix.
A good looking site, and what it costs you
Wix is a hosted website builder with an ecommerce layer, and one thing it does really well. A drag and drop visual editor and hundreds of templates mean somebody who has never seen a line of code can build a decent looking site in an afternoon. Hosting, security and updates are Wix's problem. The interface and store are localised into Czech too, so you meet Wix regularly in that market, mostly on smaller projects and presentation sites.
The first unpleasantness arrives at the price list. Wix does not bill in Czech crowns. When the platform does not support your currency it bills in dollars, so you carry the exchange rate risk. Ecommerce starts at the Core tier for 29 USD a month, roughly 670 CZK, with Business at 39 USD and Business Elite, which brings unlimited storage, at 159 USD, some 3,660 CZK. Monthly billing without an annual commitment costs 5 to 8 percent more. I am leaving the crown figures exactly as published rather than converting them for you, since the ratio between tiers is the useful part, not the sum.
Wix Payments does not cover every country
This is the biggest problem and it is worth knowing before you start building. Wix Payments, the platform's own gateway, is not available in Czechia. It runs in roughly seventeen countries and the Czech Republic is not one of them. Even though Wix expanded its European coverage in partnership with Stripe at the end of 2025, that does not save a Czech merchant. Check your own country the same way before you commit.
In practice it means reaching for a third party payment method. And what is missing natively altogether is cash on delivery. Merchants complain on forums that without add-ons Wix offers only online and offline payment and there is simply nowhere to enter cash on delivery. That method is still used by more than a third of Czech shoppers, especially the new and cautious ones.
Carriers and invoicing through third parties
Shipping and invoicing tell the same story as payments. Wix has no native integration with Packeta, PPL or Balíkovna, the pickup point networks and label printing that Czech shoppers and merchants take for granted. A third party add-on handles it, and it is not free. Integrating Packeta into Wix costs 3,000 crowns once plus 350 to 400 crowns a month, and it is run by an independent developer rather than by Wix. That is for one function local platforms include in the price.
Local invoicing as a tax document? Also an add-on, typically a link to iDoklad, one of the local invoicing services. As an aside, fiscal cash register reporting ended in Czechia in January 2023, so today's obstacle is not that but the missing link to local accounting and invoicing. Add it up and almost everything an ordinary store needs there is paid for on Wix as an app from somebody else.
Tier limits and lock in
Two more things the price list keeps quiet. First, limits tied to the more expensive tiers. Automatic tax calculation on the Business tier works only up to a hundred transactions a month, and unlimited storage arrives only on Business Elite at 159 USD. A growing store gets pushed towards the top plan quickly.
Second, and worse in my view, is how closed it is. Wix is a locked platform and there is no full site export. You cannot download a complete backup and upload it elsewhere, the design and page layouts do not export, and you would have to rebuild every page by hand. Images are hosted on Wix servers and once the subscription ends you lose access to them. What you can export is the product catalogue to CSV and the blog through RSS. Anyone who has lived through an ecommerce migration knows that this is a nasty trap.
Who Wix is enough for, and who it is not
To be fair, Wix has its place. For a presentation site with a few products, a creative's portfolio or a service where selling is a sideline, it is quick and good looking and you never think about hosting. The App Market is extensive and community add-ons cover a fair amount.
For a full store that needs cash on delivery, pickup points and compliant local invoices, though, Wix is a running battle with third party add-ons. Every further function means another app, another account and another monthly payment to somebody who is not Wix.
How a local platform handles it
A local all in one platform aims exactly where Wix pays the surcharge. In Behio the Czech gateways Comgate and GoPay, cash on delivery, pickup points through Packeta and the Zaslat aggregator, and local invoicing as a tax document are native parts of the product rather than paid add-ons. The interface and the prices are in crowns, no dollars.
And unlike Wix you are not locked in. The storefront the AI builder generates is real Next.js code you can export and self host. Paid plans start at 390 crowns a month and order volume is never capped. Compare the real cost of Wix with its add-ons and a local platform usually comes out cheaper and, more to the point, simpler to run.
The verdict
Wix is an excellent builder for an attractive website, but as a store in a country its own gateway does not cover it carries three snags I would not underestimate: Wix Payments is unavailable, cash on delivery, pickup points and local invoicing run only through paid third party add-ons, and the subscription is billed in dollars. The Packeta integration alone costs 3,000 crowns up front and hundreds a month. For a presentation site with a few products Wix is enough. For a real store it is a fight with add-ons plus lock in with no full export. Selling into one local market, you will have fewer worries and a lower real bill on a platform built for it, which for Czechia and Slovakia means something like Behio.
Common questions
No. Wix Payments is available in roughly seventeen countries and Czechia is not among them. A Czech merchant has to use a third party payment method, typically Stripe. Wix did expand its European coverage with Stripe at the end of 2025, but its own gateway still does not operate there.
Not natively. Cash on delivery is missing on Wix, and integration with Packeta, PPL or Balíkovna comes from a third party add-on. The Packeta integration costs 3,000 CZK once plus 350 to 400 CZK a month and is run by an independent developer, not by Wix.
In dollars, whenever Wix does not support your currency, which is the case in Czechia, so you carry exchange rate risk. Ecommerce starts on the Core tier at 29 USD a month (roughly 670 CZK) and monthly billing without an annual commitment is 5 to 8 percent more expensive.
Only partly. Wix is a closed platform with no full site export. You can export the product catalogue to CSV and the blog through RSS, but not the design or the layout. Images are hosted at Wix and access ends when the subscription does, so download them beforehand.
Presentation sites with a few products alongside, portfolios and services where the shop is secondary. For a full local store with cash on delivery, pickup points and compliant invoicing it is a fight with paid third party add-ons.
